COVID-19 Status Update

Dear Patients,

Covid-19 has certainly disrupted daily life and routines over the last few months and we sincerely hope you and your family are in good health. We are pleased to inform you that the office will be re-opening June 8, 2020 and we are looking forward to providing dental care to you and your family. The Ministry of Health has lifted the restrictions placed in March. While many things have changed since then, one thing has remained the same: our commintment to your health and safety.

Our office has always followed strict infection control standards. That said, in response to the current Covid-19 pandemic, we have updated our protocols to ensure patients and staff safety. When you come to your next appointment, you may notice office operations are a little different.

  • We will ask some screening questions before your appointment and you will be asked those questions again when you arrive for your appointment.
  • You will be asked to wait outside of our office door until Lynn or Barb greet you.
  • Please bring your mask and if you don't have one, we will provide one for you.
  • We will take your temperature with our infared thermometer before entering the office. We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you use when you enter the office and additional dispensers available for use as needed.
  • Our waiting room will no longer offer magazines or children's toys since those items are difficult to fully disinfect. Also, our small refrigerator with bottled water will be closed.
  • Plexiglass shields have been installed at the reception desk. Please try to stay behind the yellow tape markings on the floor in front of the reception desk.
  • Appointments will be spaced out to all for physical distancing between patients. This might mean less flexibility for scheduling your appointment, but it will also reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.
  • We will be asking caregivers or chaperones to wait outside the office when possible and will be limiting individuals allowed into the treatment rooms.
  • We will also be wearing additional protective gear such as, masks, face shields, gowns.
  • High turnover air filters have been placed throughout the office to remove micro particles from the air.
Rest assured, we have implemented these changes to create the safest environment for you, other patients and our team.

We look forward to seeing you again. If you have any questions, please let us know. To make an appointment, call our office at (416) 489-4721 or email us at drpaulderatnay@rogers.com.

Thank you for your patience and loyalty throughout this ordeal. We value your trust and look forward to welcoming you back!

Sincerely,
The Team at Dr. Paul Dertnay's
